Osama-bin-bobbin, the French Riviera, and #draping

Where shall we start?  How about the highlight of my day, courtesy of my Econ of Law class:

... All I could think about the rest of class was, "What does an Osama bin-bobbin bobbin-head look like?  Do they really make those?"

A quick Google search says ... "Maybe but I don't think so"

This was the best I found:

Fairly inappropriate.

Let's see.  Other exciting things in my life.

1. I'm eating graham crackers with peanut butter and marshmallows right now.  Best bedtime snack evs.

2. I went trail running in 1000 Hills this morning.  Totally gorg.  Totally got lost.  It's supposed to be a 13 mile loop, but I got turned around and somehow only ran 8.  I can't navigate nature, which is why no one should ever let me go if I tell them that I'm "sailing around the world".  Brit and I have a run date at 6 in the morning though to give it another shot.  I should probably go to bed.

3. I decided I'm going to go bum around the French Riviera this summer before my internship starts (surprise mom and dad).

4. It's a big week for DSP (my business fraternity) and I'm a leeeeetttle bit stressed.  I'm in charge of initiation and officer voting... which will be fun and exciting.  Just a big weekend :)

5. The Marines are coming to Truman.  And they're bringing a plane.  You can sign up for hour long rides to do aerial tricks and stuff.  I'm excited.  And I'm banking on at least one of them being highly attractive.

6. I got my first sunburn of the season yesterday, which I spent at 1000 Hills with these lovely ladies:
My CK pledge class.  We're awk at the hand thing.

7. I watched The Notebook yesterday.  I need to stop doing that, because it makes me turn into such a sap.  It's absolutely impossible to watch that movie and not want to be in lurve.

8. My newest (and most fattening/expensive) addiction is the Greek Corner Gyro place.  le sigh, they're just so tasty.

9. MAD MEN RETURNED.  I haven't watched the 2 hour premiere yet, and it's looking like I probably won't until next week.  But I'm OH.SO.EXCITED.  Also, #draping is happening.

10. A penguin being tickled.

 Goodnight :)

Pippin's Post

Many of you may know that there is a special man in my life named Pippin.  This post is dedicated to him.

I acquired Pippin from the San Diego Sea World in June of 2009 and he has been a blessing to my life ever since.

There were many penguins to choose from, but I knew I could only give my heart to one.

And then Pippin caught my eye.

I rescued him from the cold, bitter winds of the gift shop and placed him upon a shelf in my heart.

We became instant friends.

We went everywhere together.  It was sort of like Andy and Woody from Toy Story.  Except I was 18 and Pippin was actually real.

I would do anything for Pippin, even if it meant fighting this flight attendant for not giving Pippin the ice he needed to survive a long flight.

...That's the look of a sad and non-iced penguin.

Pippin has been known to get a little crazy when he isn't iced properly, turning to the unsustainable pleasures of this world.

Which is why I have to remember to give him his daily ice cube.

Pippin is the best penguin a girl could ask for.  Sometimes I even wish that I was Pippin.

Oh! What a life it would be, waddling around and getting your cheeks squeezed because they stick out like swollen grapefruits.

To date, I have dressed up like Pippin for Halloween on 2 separate occasions.

While many other penguins have made their way into my life, none has stuck around like my dearest Pippin.

Not Ke$ha penguin...

Nor Charlie Sheen penguin...

Nor Lady Gaga penguin...

Nor the penguins from Madagascar...

...They all left me, but I know that my Pippin never will.

The point of this post is none.  Except that I have a penguin named Pippin, and he's better than you.

Who you are is who you want to be

Hi, my name is Sarah and I believe that life is what you make of it.  That's why I'm making mine fabulous

I made a blog so I could talk about all of the exciting things that are going on in my life.  In the near future, I'll be training for a marathon, traveling across the pond for Spring Break, and moving to Minneapolis this summer for an internship at Target Headquarters. Unfortunately, today itself was less than exciting (I went to 2 classes: health and library science, and then worked at my internship at the Career Center).  So I decided to kick off the blog with a photo blast from the past, in hopes that it would provide the future of this blog with more context.  You have to know where you're coming from to know where you're going, right?

So anyway, here is a little about me...

First of all, I like to climb things :

I have a slight obsession with penguins :

Dancing = yes please :

I have high aesthetic appreciation. Style, design, fashion...

I'm a sister :)

Black Friday is my favorite holiday :

I'm a "runner", or at least I try. After running a couple of halves, I signed up for a full marathon a couple of weeks ago :

Ke$ha? I think she's pretty cool :

Don't let this throw you off though, I like real music too :

People think I'm ditzy (?!) and always ask me if I was a cheerleader. Well,

I grew up though and when I got to college, I joined an amazing business fraternity :

And I'm really excited for my future career with Target.  After gaining in-store leadership experience last summer, I'm interning in Minneapolis this summer as a business analyst :

I love the snow :

Planking and Owling?  Nothin' but a G-thang :

The opportunity to travel has blessed my life :

I have amazing friends :

Lastly, and there is no better way to put this, I am fabulous :

My interests span fashion, sarcasm, culture, literature, business, music, fitness, arts, humor, and food.  You will see all of these present in my blog, and I'll do my best to entertain.

Toodles for now!

Surrahh!
